the whole bowl experience

If you've never been to Portland, OR, it's time you go.  There's even a TV show based on the culture of Portland.  The one thing Portlandia hasn't shown *yet* is the food cart culture in Portland.  Food carts EVERYWHERE!  One of the best, and most addicting and healthy ones, Whole Bowl.

the assembly (bottom to top): brown rice, black beans, tali sauce, salsa, sour cream, olives, avocado, cheddar, *cilantro*
  • 1/4 C. Olive oil
  • 1/4 C. Almonds (soaked)
  • 2 Tbsp. Brewer's Yeast / Nutritional Yeast (if you can't find it, it's okay!)
  • 1/4 C. Garbanzo Beans (properly sprouted and cooked)
  • 1/4 C. Water
  • 1/4 C. Lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 clove of garlic (I would add 2+ cloves next time)
  • 1/2 tsp. Sea salt
  • 1 tsp. Curry powder
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. Onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • BLEND ALL OF THESE TOGETHER
blend the tali sauce.

MORE CHEDDAR

in the original Whole Bowl, cilantro is added at the top..but I hate cilantro, and well, we didn't buy it.

  2. That honestly looks like the best thing ever. And I may make it for dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast. Or all three right now.
