more apartment

It's been a little bit of a while since I've posted some things.  Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to photographing Montreal, in its metropolitan glory, I still feel too much of a tourist to carry a camera around.  However, we've done more with our apartment!

The first photos are of our kitchen cabinets quite ugly to begin with.  In order to make it a lot cooler (without pulling out all the cabinets entirely) I liquid starched some blue and white "berry picking" fabric to the wood frame, which I highly recommend!  You can use this tutorial.  Then we painted the very, very glossy and dirty doors with a plain white.  Hopefully soon we'll be able to find some knobs that are also appropriate for this Swedish look.

Another "almost done" project is our wonderful vintage hutch that we got at Brimfield.  We repainted it and added some knobs I purchased a couple years ago from Anthropologie.

And finally, the built-in bookshelf in our living room. It's an open space in the wall that peeks into our office.

Everything is slowly coming along, and our apartment is starting to feel more like us!
