it's been a month??

Yikes.  My summer intentions were to blog more, about cool things I've been up to or seen.  But what a disappointment.  Summer has been busy.  Not just with photography and general summerness, but with school, and traveling...  summer has been more exhausting then the school year!  I apologize for being too lazy to update the blog.  I thought I'd kick off August with my travels.  The first:  San Francisco!  I'll be doing a few posts on San Francisco, as it's sectioned either by day, or by an awesome place we visited. 

Pot and Pantry is a super awesome buy+trade kitchen shop.  The owner is a friend of a friend, and she sure does have really great kitchen stuff in this tiny shop.  I bought some wooden measuring spoons and a ridiculously amazing chopstick set with cat shaped chopstick rests!  That's right.

Due to some very maddening, and unfortunate events, my parents were unable to drive across the Quebec border with the husband and I.  It sucked real bad, but in the long run we still got to visit them in Boston.  Only a few days in Montreal, we drove across the Canadian border (again and again) and drove what we thought was 4 hours (but ended up being 6) to Boston.  Despite the dreaded waits at the border and the extended driving time, it was a wonderful trip!  I'm glad I got to go to Fenway Park with my Dad (although the Sox lost miserably) and got to go to the Boston Public Library for the first time.  The library had some pretty awesome exhibits including vintage travel art, and a great little window into some small worlds.  (the photo of me is of my sad, Red Sox: 2, Rangers: 7, face)

My dear cat, Weasley, has become quite the adventurer on the road, not by choice.  We traveled 6 days: Portland, OR to Montreal, QC.  And she has seen some marvelous things!  The lower passenger seat of my car!  Mount Rushmore!  More of my car!  Niagara Falls!  And more!  And then she slept a whole bunch.

I was very fortunate to be traveling to the east coast when Brimfield came around again.  I was able to pick up a few things (photos will be included once the apartment is in better condition), and I was so happy I was able to check it out.  I ended up buying quite a few of those spools of thread, but I wish I could have purchased so much more, like a useless (but awesome) basket of wooden spools, or a ton of seashells.  I guess I'll just have to wait until my tiny apartment grows.
