jessa's wedding on girls

I know I am late in posting this, but honestly - I forgot.  After watching the finale of HBO's Girls, a few weeks back, I remembered loving the ceremony altar at Jessa's surprise wedding.  It would make a great decoration for an outdoor wedding, or just an outdoor party.  I may have to try it out this summer when we have a housewarming soiree for our new home in California.

mad men finale party

It's been a tradition this summer to have a Monday Mad Men Night.  It was very simple. We would just get together at a friend's house and watch the episode on Monday night (since none of us have cable).  For this season's finale the hosts for the week decided to do a 1960s dress up party.  Most of my vintage clothing is very 1950s or 1970s and I really wanted to personify this season's Mad Men fashion.  Considering the fact that this dress isn't vintage, I'd say I did a pretty good job.  I just wish I knew how to curl my hair... This outfit was inspired by Megan and probably Trudy's fashion on Mad Men.

cece's apartment: new girl

After screen-capturing the wonderful details of Joan Harris' apartment from Mad Men, I decided to look more closely at some other tv show apartments.  Another fantastic apartment comes from Fox's New Girl, particularly Cece's apartment.  Unfortunately there have only been a couple of scenes in her apartment, but the color and decor is pretty great.  Gotta love the mint walls, mid century furniture, and vintage knick knacks.  Does anyone have a favorite TV show apartment?  I'd love to find more!

joan harris' apartment.

So, I'm sure I'm not the only one blogging about Mad Men's premiere, but I am particularly loving Joan Harris' apartment. I loved it before, but I think the show's hiatus made me love her apartment even more. I am currently fortunate enough to be planning out (on a very budgetary level) decor and color for a new apartment and I could seriously use all the colors in Joan's apartment.  I absolutely love how bold and non-pastel these are!  I can be scared of color sometimes, at least on apartment walls, but I think I may have found my new inspiration. Unfortunately last Sunday's premiere didn't feature Joan's kitchen so much, so I found a supplementary photo on Google (source is below). What do you think?

inside mad men

Rolling Stones took behind the scenes photos of Mad Men on set.  Was it just me, or did you really get weirded out when you say Ken holding a laptop? See them all here.
